City of Angels Update April 2025

The Sacred Dance for Life

I sometimes forget

that I was created for Joy.

My mind is too busy.

My heart is too heavy

for me to remember t

That I have been

Called to dance

the sacred dance of life.

I was created to smile.

To Love.

To be lifted up

and lift up others.

The past week has brought a nightmare to Frankfort. Every day feels so heavy and it's difficult

to remember the joy of dancing. But as our children of the Kings Center eventually get back to some normalcy in their lives, they know that your prayers and love have lifted them up. This community is awesome in the way we take care of each other. Thank you so much for doing your part, no matter what that has been.

I do know that some of you have suffered greatly and I have prayed for your strength and wisdom as you clean, repair, and resettle your homes. Likewise some of our children have lost everything, especially those living in trailers. I have tried to find out who was in dire need and let those angels know. I will continue to work on this as I help at shelters and community centers.

This loss has been confounded by the passing of our director's life partner. Vernon passed away a week ago so the KC had been closed even before the flood. Deneen is doing all she can to help extended family who were evacuated while trying to plan for a funeral and memorial.

I'm sure she would appreciate some extra prayers.

Meanwhile the KC basement flooded as the water rose up to the 4th stair. It's abated now but will need a lot of cleanup efforts. I'm not sure what all we lost. There was a foosball table and a

Legos table as well as lots of desks, books, and chairs. There is also a bathroom down there.
