We are not called to save the world, solve all problems, and help all people. But we each have our own unique call, in our families, in our work, in our world. We have to keep asking God to help us see clearly what our call is and to give us strength to live out that call with trust. With all the problems swirling around in our nation and our world, it can become exhausting to know what to do. It is also a scary time for our children who no doubt watch their parents' anxiety over paying bills and shopping for the holidays. Thank you for your faithfulness to this "no small" task of being an angel to our KC kids. I know it is comforting to them when they read your encouraging words and know that you are praying for them.

On Wednesdays, Dr. Leanne Hadley and Steph Sorrell (from FUMC) come to the KC for a voluntary class called Holy Listening. Usually 25-30 children opt in. Once a month they ride the bus to the gym at FUMC for a variety of activities. I have some pictures I'll try to share at the bottom of this email.

As a reminder to all, I create a birthday bag with eight or so items from the Dollar Tree for each student on their birthday. I put your card in the bag. If you'd like to add a small gift card in your card, that is fine but not necessary. This is so everyone gets approximately the same amount of goodies for their birthday!

We have a new volunteer who is helping the kids write out their Christmas wish lists. I'll be reviewing those and mailing them to you some time this month. Remember that most kids love those comfy blankets (I saw them at Kohls for ten dollars last week.) They also love those squishables! My church UWF makes hats and scarves, so you don't need to include those but there are a lot of fun things you can get ahead of time if you see them on sale. Meanwhile I will send you a list with instructions as to how to deliver your Christmas bag and when. Feel free to email me with any questions.
